Wayanad, palakkad, kanyakumari


Wayanad is one of the districts in Kerala that have been able to retain its pristine nature. This green paradise is nestled among the mountains of western ghat and is located at a distance of 76 km from the nearest sea-shore of Kozhikode. Wayanad offers a climate of the hill station and a panorama of undulating hills and dales. Wayanad is a land of spices-Almost every crops such as coffee, black-pepper, ginger, turmeric, cocoa, arecanut, tea, rubber, vanilla etc are grown here. Black pepper produced from this hill station is famous in the world of spices because of its unique quality and aroma. This district of Kerala offers excellent wildlife viewing opportunities, an insight into tribal culture evocative of earlier centuries, trekking and other adventure activities, and a variety of remote monuments. The hills, rocks and valleys which give shape to the very unique terrain of Wayanad provide for exceptional adventure experiences. For wildlife enthusiasts and nature lovers, splendid scenic spectacle with hills appearing deep blue in bright sunlight and mist covered most of the time.


Palakkad is a land of palm trees and paddy fields. It's known to be rich in flora and fauna. It is located in an extremely fragile and a unique preserve of tropical evergreen rain forests lying above the equator that causes the summer rains in Kerala. Palakkad is known for its historical background and the remnants of Tipu Sultan’s Fort. This place is blessed with mountains, forests, fertile valleys, rivers and mountain streams.


Kanyakumari also popularly known as Cape Comorin is located at a junction at the southernmost tip of India where the three water bodies, namely, Bay of Bengal, the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean meet. From here, one can see the sun rise from the Bay of Bengal and set in the Arabian Sea. Kannyakumari has been named after the Goddess Kannyakumari Amman, a deity. Legend has it that the Goddess Parvati in one of her incarnations as Devi Kanniya did penance on one of the rocks of this land’s end to obtain the hand of Lord Shiva. The Gandhi Smarak Mandir and Vivekananda Rock Memorial are additional tourist attractions. The Kanyakumari beach is a beautiful sight with multi-coloured sand. The beach here does not really offer one the opportunity to sunbathe on soft golden sands.

Rainfall Monsoon in Kerala begins by the end of May or early June. Besides monsoon also reappears during the month of October and lasts till December known as retreating rainfall average rainfall 2250-2500 mm.
